NUUXS – Options (impacts 20th September on Goldun Egg/Absolute)
French-English singer NUUXS unveils new track ‘Options’, the second offering from her forthcoming Red Tape Vol. 2 mixtape, out August 16th.  ‘Options’ is a paen of optimistic comfort that finds NUUXS at her most wonderfully enticing and has already featured in Annie Mac’s Power Down Playlist. NUUXS’ personal and musical journeys are closely intertwined. Having grown up in a cult where she was shut off from such worldly things as music and wider culture, she eventually found the strength to escape and began her musical awakening at school, setting up an indie band with two friends and writing hooks for local grime artists. She eventually caught the eye of producer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, The Libertines, James Bay), who signed her to his Goldun Egg imprint in 2016. NUUXS has earned widespread praise from the likes of Clash, Wonderland, tmrw and The Line of Best Fit, radio play from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Soho Radio.

French-English singer NUUXS unveils new track ‘Options’, out today. The single is the second offering from her forthcoming Red Tape Vol. 2 mixtape, out August 16th via Goldun Egg/Absolute.

‘Options’ is a paen of optimistic comfort that finds NUUXS at her most wonderfully enticing. With its infectious tropical beat, warming synth pads and hints of Spanish guitar and handpans, it has a decidedly Latin sway to it that’s impossible to resist and perfectly complements the lyrics’ message of expressive freedom and self-worth.

“Options is about believing in the possibility of a better life, better job, better situation, better days, better anything that is holding you back from living your best life. Especially during times you think you won’t be able to get through the day, or get out of bed, or even love again. This is for anyone who feels like they’re falling and everything is spiralling out of control; for the ones who want to “get up and go, move on”. Expressing yourself without inhibitions, dance, sing, laugh until you cry, let yourself heal and start again,” NUUXS explains.

NUUXS’ personal and musical journeys are closely intertwined. The new music follows 2018’s Red Tape Vol. 1, which earned widespread praise from the likes of Clash, Wonderland, tmrw and The Line of Best Fit, radio play from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Soho Radio, as well as Spotify adding her to their UK Viral Chart and single ‘No Good For Me’ racking up over 600k views on Youtube. Red Tape Vol. 2 looks set to continue NUUXS’ upward trajectory as one of UK pop’s most exciting and intriguing prospects.
