NUUXS – Safe (impacts 12th July on Goldun Egg/Absolute)
French-English singer NUUXS returns with new single ‘Safe’, the first offering from her forthcoming Red Tape Vol. 2 mixtape, out August 16th via Goldun Egg/Absolute.  NUUXS’ personal and musical journeys are closely intertwined. Having grown up in a cult where she was shut off from such worldly things as music and wider culture, she eventually found the strength to escape and began her musical awakening at school, setting up an indie band with two friends and writing hooks for local grime artists. She eventually caught the eye of producer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, The Libertines, James Bay), who signed her to his Goldun Egg imprint in 2016. The new music follows 2018’s Red Tape Vol. 1, which earned widespread praise from the likes of Clash, Wonderland, tmrw and The Line of Best Fit. Red Tape Vol. 2 looks set to continue NUUXS’ upward trajectory as one of UK pop’s most exciting and intriguing prospects.

Biography
MIXTAPE OUT 16TH AUGUST VIA GOLDUN EGG / ABSOLUTE

“NUUXS is destined for great things” - Wonderland
“wonderfully off piste pop music” - Clash

French-English singer  NUUXS returns with new single ‘Safe’, the first offering from her forthcoming Red Tape Vol. 2 mixtape, out August 16th via Goldun Egg/Absolute.

‘Safe’ finds NUUXS in a typically reflective mood, examining the pitfalls of being stuck in a ‘safe’ relationship. It’s a polished pop slow jam that fuses warming, comforting synths and delicate drum patterns with pensive lyrics to portray the internal conflict of being stuck in a comfortable rut.

‘Safe’ is about not wanting to feel safe in a relationship,” NUUXS explains. “it’s often the case when you get into a routine and happens to everyone after a while. This is a challenge to hit refresh and shows that if there’s a genuine connection and love then it’s worth talking about and being honest in order to move forward.”
