It was always going to take something fresh and invigorating to bring the legendary KIDS Records back to life and London electronic act EKKOES are the act responsible for the return of the label who kicked off the career of The Wombats, Kyte and The Whip, oversaw the first UK release from Band of Horses and unveiled Paul Hartnoll of Orbital’s solo debut. The three-piece posses all the trademark qualities of the label’s signature focus on quality and ambition, showcasing a brand of bittersweet, song-driven electronic pop taking cues from the likes of New Order, CHVRCHES, St Lucia, Years & Years, Human League and Hurts.

EKKOES create beautifully crafted pop songs, both melancholic and euphoric, underpinned by a dancefloor sensibility. Jon Beck and Limerick born Rosalee O’Connell sing the songs, whilst Dave Fawbert is on keys, guitar and programming.  The band have been writing together since 2013 and launch with their single ‘You Just Walked Away’ - a catchy, broken love song with a melodic chorus, lightly tripping over hi energy bass and synths. The single is the first of four tracks to be released monthly, before the self-produced album ‘Elekktricity’, which features mixing credits from Paul ‘P Dub’ Walton (U2/ Massive Attack/ Goldfrapp) and Duncan Mills (Florence and the Machine/ Peace)

The band have also been busy establishing themselves as remixers du jour for the likes of: The Acid, Lana Del Rey, Joy Formidable, Sykur and British Electric Foundation, with the glittering prize being a stunning remix of Kate Bush's ‘This Woman's Work’ to add to their credits.

EKKOES will be supporting Human League on their UK and European tour later this year. In the meantime they are getting club support from Danny Tenaglia, Hoxton Whores, Roger Sanchez, Eton Messy, Luke Walker, Tony Humphries, Marcus Nasty, Sister Bliss, Fred Deakin, Nate Goodman and many more who have been spinning their tunes.  They have played live at; Bestival, Secret Garden Party and Sound City and have previously supported CHVRCHES, Charli XCX and Beck to name a few.
